Staithes
Stathes beck and the old village. From the viewpoint down the hill from the public car park.
Staithes doorway.
The letterbox of this doorway in Staithes, North Yorkshire, serves as an honesty box to pay for the ammonite fossils for sale on the wall (which is out of shot). The rounded stone on the step is a rock nodule, split to reveal an ammonite.
Staithes fossil shop.
Fossils, mostly ammonites, were arranged along the wall for sale. Payment through the letterbox.
Parking advice.
This weathered sign reiterated the advice that there is no public parking in the old section of Staithes. Thankfully public parking is plentiful at the top of the hill before entering the village.
